Court Bonds Rev. Obofour For Breaching Copyright Law

Rev. Obofour known in real life as Reverend Kweku Agyei Antwi has been asked to sign a bond of good behavior for six months for extracting part of Celestine Donkor’s song without her consent.

The song “Agbebolo” which explains as “bread of life” was used for commercial purpose on Obofour’s television.

He pleaded guilty to the charges which infringe the copyright law.

According to his explanation to the court which was presided over by Madam Eva Bannerman Williams, he accepted liability as the owner of the various stations which the content was aired, adding that he had already met her to pay compensation.

The court took his explanation as plea for mitigation convicted Rev Obofour on his own plea.

The extraction part of the song which was authored and copyright own by Celestine Donkor was aired on Kiss TV, Lion TV, Sweet TV,Cash TV and all the channel belongs to the man of God.
